The Struggle by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The Struggle by Jennifer L. Armentrout is the third book in the Titan series. This series is the spin-off series of the Covenant series. The main character of this series Seth who played a major role in the previous one. After finishing this book in two days, I give it 4 stars. It was so much better than the second one. Also, I did not know that this was a 3+ book series. I am so excited for the next one.

What do you have to know about this book/series?
First of all, whereas The Covenant series was a YA series, this one is obviously not as you can see by the cover. So if you're not into graphic sex scenes or cannot stand really disgusting imagery in novels, this is not for you. The series as a whole takes place a few months after The Covenant series finishes. And since this is the 3rd book, I can't tell you much about it, except that I find it personally better than the 2nd one.
What are the characters like?
One of the main reasons why I started reading this series is Seth. I really liked him in the Covenant series. I am just drawn to characters like him. Those with the bad-boy attitude and the arrogance but with a soft and vulnerable side too. Josie is an okay character but in the second book she was problematic. I think she was way to overprotective of Seth and she only knew him for a few months, which I found a little bit unrealistic. However, in this book her reactions are much more realistic and she's not all over set, which is a great improvement in my opinion. Then we have all the other minor characters which I love: Aiden, Alex, Deacon and Luke. It was just great getting a glimpse of them. Apollo, is there too but he is behaving strangely, so I can't pinpoint whether I like him or not.

Did I like the book?
Yes, I liked it a lot. It is fast paced and full of drama. There is one major plot twist near the end and even though it is not that original, I loved it. I loved Seth's reaction to it. And it makes the story all the more exciting and suspensul.  However, it also brings a new dose of anxiety into the game. We'll see how it will turn out in the next book.

P.S. I really don't like the covers of this series. I mean, why didn't they continue with the beautiful Covenant covers???

Postaja Jedanaest - Recenzija I Station Eleven - Review

Ovo je recenzija knjige Postaja Jedanaest autorice Emily St. John Mandel

The English review is below the Croatian one!

Hrvatsko izdanje / Croatian edition

***

I first heard from this book on Regan's Youtube channel. She said that she liked it and I am always paying attention to what she likes because I know that I will like it too, at leas in most cases. However, I had forgoten about the book up up until one day when I saw it in the library.
English edition / englesko izdanje

What do you have to know about the plot? The best answer would be nothing. I started reading this book whithout knowing anything about and I think this is the best way to start this book. Just lie down in your bad or sit down into your armchair and start reading. There is one plot twist in the beginning of the book that will make you read the book till the end. I, for example, thought that I had figured out the plot based on the first few pages and I've never been so wrong

What are the characters like? Personally, I think they are okay. Some I like more than others, but I don't have a favourite characters. However, the stories of most of the characters are really interesting and the way they come together is well done.

Did I like the book? Yes, quite a lot. As I said before, the beginning of the book shocked me so much that I had to keep on reading. The reading flows, there are no lengthy descriptions and it is easy to read. While you're reading some question appear on their own, which is great because it means that you'll be in the mood to coninue reading.

Happy reading everyone!

The Literary Dinner Party Tag

 The Literary Dinner Party Tag

So I have found another fun book on ... And these tags where you have to pick characters are my favorite. So send them my way, I'll gladly do them.

1. One character who can cook/likes to cook
The first person that came to my mind is Christian Ozera from Vampire Academy. I remember him taking a cooking class with Rose in one book.
Christian: *enters room with food* *sees whole room destroyed* *slowly backs away*

2. One character who has money to fund the party
For this one, I pick Cleo Bellona from Falling Kingdoms because she's royal and I think she would probably fund a party. All the other rich characters that I can think of might not want to xD

3. One character who might cause a scene
There are so many drama queens in the books that I read.xD I pick Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices. For those of you who have read TID, just remember the epilogue and what he did at a certain wedding.

4. One character who is funny/amusing
I pick Scorpius Malfoy from The Cursed Child. I laughed at so many of his comebacks in the book and I think he would get along with everyone.

5. One character who is super social/popular
I choose Isabelle Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments. She is badass and I think she'll make sure that everybody behaves, especially Will XD

6. One villian
One villain I definitely want to know more about is The Darkling from the Grisha Trilogy. However, I don't think he would fit in this group of people that I invited. Oh well, he is gotta deal with it.

7. One couple – doesn’t have to be romantic
I choose Percy and Annabeth. They are one of my favorite OTPs and I just really want them at this dinner party even if they weren't a couple.

8. One hero/heroine
I pick Sydney Sage from Bloodlines mainly because she and Annabeth would get along great. Probably talk about architecture all the time.

9. One underappreciated character
Nikolai freaking Lantsov from the Grisha trilogy. The amount of love I feel for him is ucomparable to anybody else's. I just love him so much!

10. One character of your own choosing
I choose Mustang from Red Rising because I adore her and she would fit in with Annabeth and Sydney. Badass intelligent women at my dinner party, what more could you ask for?

This would certainly be an interesting dinner party. I can feel all the tension coming from some of the guys, particulary The Darkling and Nikolai. However, I think that the girls would get along just great. They would probably just roll their eyes at the guys and return to their own conversation. By the way, I just love the image of them sitting at the table, discussing various topics, ignoring the guys xD

You're Not Good Enough Book Tag

So I saw this super fun tag on DreamlandBookBlog and I decided to do it too. I'm so excited! :D

This book tag was created by Beccathebookreviewer and ReadLikeWildfire on Youtube. The link to their video is here

Basically, what you have to do is write 30 characters' names on separate pieces of paper and put them in a container. You draw two names and decide which character you pick for the question, the other the will not be good enough for the question.

Let's begin!

1. You only have one more spot on your Spelling B team, who would you pick to complete your team?

Sydney Sage (Bloodlines) vs. The Darkling (The Grisha Trilogy)

Obviously Sydney Sage, she is a genius that knows, I think 5, languages. She'll slay the contest! However, I am not saying the Darkling is stupid. For all I know he could suck at spelling, he is that mysterious xD

2.Both characters want to kill you, which one would you kill first so you have a better chance of surviving?

Emma Carstairs (The Dark Artifices) vs. Kaz Brekker (Six of Crows)

I probably shouldn't have written the characters' names before reading the questions. Almost all characters are capable of killing someone *cries*. Look now what it has gotten me into. I am choosing Kaz because once Kaz wants you dead, you'll be dead. Now I only have to escape Emma freaking Carstairs. Fun *gulp*. *runs*

3. You’re on the bachelor/bachelorette an you’re down to these two characters, which one are you going to give your rose too?

Waylan (Six of Crows) vs. Alex Fierro (Magnus Chase)

Waylan may be cute but I don't find him particulary appealing personality wise and Alex is simply badass, so I'll give her the rose. Let's hope she doesn't decapitate me xD

4. You’ve been chosen for the Hunger Games, who would most likely volunteer in your place?

Gansey (The Raven Cycle) vs. Darrow (The Red Rising)

I think both of them would actually do it but since Darrow has gone through a similar thing and has better odds *wink* *wink* of winning them, I choose him. My poor baby Gansey should't have to suffer anymore!

5. You’re stranded on an island. Which character would you sacrifice to engage in cannibalism?

Dorian Havilliard (Throne of Glass) vs. Sevro (The Red Rising)

That's what I get for picking only faves. I am such an idiot. Now, who am I gonna eat? *shudders* I pick Dorian simply because he is cleaner than Sevro *shudders again*. And Sevro is actually not bad to hang out with. Maybe he can find food and I don't have to eat Dorian?

6.You’re the next DC/Marvel superhero (with your own tv show of course), who is your sidekick?

Lysandra (Throne of Glass) vs. Adelina (The Young Elites)

Oh, this is an easy one. I choose Lysandra because she's got a badass power that can help me. Not that Adelina doesn't but Adelina is scary and Lysandra is a nicer person and more social. We would gossip all day long. xD

7.You’re a manager of an Avocado admiring company, who would you fire for lack of communication skills?

Jem Carstairs (The Infernal Devices) vs. Annabeth Chase (PJO)

I think that Jem has always been the quiet type so I'll fire him. But I feel extremly guilty because it's Jem. :( I don't he would be mad though for too long.

8.You’ve just finished a book in which your favorite character dies, which character is most likely to comfort you?

Tessa Gray (The Infernal Devices) vs. Cress (The Lunar Chronicles)

Tessa obviously, no doubt about it. She is a huge bookworm just like me. She'd understand the pain.

9.Ugh, it’s high school. Who would most likely be part of the popular clique?

Magnus Damora (Falling Kingdoms) vs. Celaena (Throne of Glass)

I think they both would be but Celaena more than Magnus. Because Celaena is more charismatic and open whereas Magnus is cold and withdrawn.

10.The day has arrived; you’re finally a year older! Who would have the nerve to forget your birthday?

Simon Snow (Carry On) vs. Feyre (ACOTAR)

I think that Simon is the type of person who forgets people's birthdays. He seems so lost all the time and confused. xD

11. You’ve just found an upcoming booktube star? Who would most likely be?

Nico di Angelo (PJO) vs Kvothe (The Kingkiller Chronicles)

Kvothe is an actor and has read many books in his universe. I think he would be a calm, reserved booktuber, very critical. Probably with a huge collection of classics.

12. Sleepover time! Unfortunately you can only invite one person, who would you invite?

Kat (Lux) vs. Apollo (The Trials of Apollo)

I pick Kat because, let's be honest, Apollo would only talk about himself and be annoying xD With Kat, on the other hand, I can talk about books which will be great.

13. Bam, you’re pregnant. Who’s the father/mother?

Ash (The Iron Fey) vs Gwen (The Gemstone Trilogy)

Ash! No complaints from me xD Probably my favorite question. It's hilariously phrased.

14. You’ve just written a super important text. Who would ‘see’ it, but not reply?

Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy) vs. Adrian Ivashkov (Bloodlines)

For those of you who don't know, they are actually from the same universe. And I think that Rose would be too busy to bother with text messages. She works 24/7, she ain't got time for texting.

15. You’ve just woken up and it’s time for breakfast. Your mum’s been replaced by..who?!

Magnus Chase (Magnus Chase) vs. Mustang (Red Rising)

Does this question ask for who's got cooking skills or who is more likely to cook me breakfast? Because I'm pretty sure Magnus can't cook, but he is a good person. Mustang can probably cook, but she would be too busy to cook. Hmmm. I think Mustang if I were part of her family.

...

And that's it for the You're Not Good Enough Book Tag. It was a lot of fun. :D

What I am Currently Reading! MARCH 2017

Hi people!

Long time no see! Eh, eh? Well, I am deeply sorry for not uploading more posts. I quickly lose interest in things after some time but I plan to correct this. Right now!

I am currently reading two books Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel and The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss.

1. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

I picked this book from the library because PeruseProject (Regan) from Youtube liked it and I trust her judgement. And lemme tell you, it took me completely by surprise. I didn't read the synopsis before I started reading and I am so glad I didn't because there is one sentence that threw me off so much that I had to put the book down and let it sink in. Definitely recommend even though I haven't read it yet.

2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss

I am buddy reading this with my friend and it's so much fun discussing the book with someone who has read it (she already finished the second book *shame on me*). I love this book because of its characters and the world. It is so well done. You follow this characters (Kvothe) through his life from child to adult (I guess, the third book isn't out yet) and it's a delight to read about.Kvothe is intelligent and cunning, which I love to read about. And then there is a magic school and crazy teachers and good friends, I think this book is for everyone. And even though the book is huge, the language flows flawlessly and therefore it will never feel to heavy.

If you've read these comments tell me in the comments. I would love to discuss it with you :D
